Maoz Israel Ministries Maoz Israel Ministries (in Israel) Aids the Persecuted, the Poor, and the Needy... Maoz is a Messianic Jewish Ministry located in Israel. The mission of Maoz is to feed the poor and needy in Israel. Maoz also evangelizes and trains people in the knowledge of the Bible.
Maoz translates teaching books and Bibles into Hebrew so people can learn about the Lord Jesus. The books Maoz translates and publishes are for evangelism, spiritual growth, and to help the converted people to become mature Christians. Furthermore, Moaz provides Israelis with economic and disaster relief. Maoz has been the leader in the Messianic movement in Israel for over 30 years.

Maoz Israel Ministries was created in 1976, in Tel Aviv, Israel, by its founders (Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram) who pastor Messianic Congregation in Tel Aviv. Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram are citizens of Israel and have two grown children who were born in Israel and they also have two grandchildren. MaozIsrael Projects One of the latest projects of MaozIsrael is publishing books in Hebrew. Maoz ministries says, "If an Israeli is growing quickly in their knowledge of the Lord, it is because that Israeli is a reader". So, Maoz Israel Ministries is writing, translating, and publishing, one book per month in Hebrew to distribute in congregations and bookstores throughout Israel. Also MaozIsrael supports on a regular basis an Arab congregation in Northern Israel pastored by Joseph Haddad. Another wonderful project MaozIsrael is undertaking is to produce 1000 compact discs of the New Testament Bible to be distributed throughout Israel. MaozIsrael Supports the Persecuted Maoz Israel Ministries (as well as other members of the Messianic community) have been under persecution by ultra-Orthodox Jews or other religious organizations. The ultra-Orthodox spread lies about individuals and congregations and their businesses and threaten the lives of Israelis who have accepted Jesus as their Messiah. MaozIsrael assists the persecuted believers by providing personal support, paying for legal expenses, and helping to support the believers' businesses. Here is a recent example of the persecution which is a reality every day in the lives of believers in Israel... On March 20th, a person, in an Israeli army uniform, set a package at the door of the apartment of David and Leah Ortiz who are leaders of the Ariel Messianic Congregation. The package was disguised as a Purim present. It even had a card attached to it which said "Purim Sameach" which translates roughly to Happy Purim. The cleaning lady, not knowing any better, took the package in and placed it on the table. Ami Ortiz, a 15 year old boy, sat down and proceeded to remove the ribbon on the package. When he did, there was an explosion which blew him across the room. He was found on the floor... his body badly torn and in a puddle of blood! The Lord showed mercy on him and he survived this explosion but he has to undergo a long recovery period. That is only one of the persecuted who are helped by MaozIsreal. In Israel, the level of poverty is $400.00 a month and there are over 1.7 million people below the poverty level. The really sad part is that 850,000 of them are children. It is really sad that Israel (which is a western democratic government) and still 20% of the population lives under the poverty level. The other reason I have decided to support Maoz Israel Ministries is to help the Christian victims who are being persecuted every day in Israel. Children should not have to go to bed hungry and Christians should help other Christians wherever they are in the world.
